In the documents of the Archives there are several references to works of maintenance, other documents witness the alcalde and his soldiers’ everyday life, showing a human and often amusing side as, for example, when the alcalde is invited to send his wife out of the fortress or when the soldiers are accused of using the sharpened parts of the guns to roast the meat.

In the XIX century, as witnessed by the nineteenth-century sources, it continued its activity with a small garrison till the progressive abandonment happened in the second half of the same century when it was finally used as a shelter for the shepherds.
