| The
Municipal Archives of Villasimius keep documents from the
second half of the nineteenth-century. They are very important
as they witness the changes in the population of Villasimius
starting from the first union of families to the reality of
a community explained with details through documents regarding
the aspects of the social life, as for example the arrival
of the first teacher, the elections of the first representatives
of the village, the construction of buildings such as the
church and the barracks…. The essential passage of this
process is the change of the name Carbonara into Villasimius,
happened in 1862, witnessed by one of these documents. |
